Teachers Become Students at Technology Training
Posted on 06/07/2017

What do teachers do when students leave for summer vacation?  Often they become students themselves!

Learning at TechTimeThe first week of June, more than 150 RRPS teachers and support staff spent a day and a half learning how to better use technology in their work and in teaching.  The wide range of workshops available to them included using Google tools to facilitate workflow and engage students, using devices such as smartphones and Chromebooks in the classroom, and using videos and other tools to improve student learning.

Tech classMost of the classes were taught by RRPS teachers and staff members who were sharing their vast knowledge with colleagues.  The workshop participants were appreciative and excited about what they'd learned:

  • What a great day! My head is so full of things I want to use next year!
  • Can't wait to try some of the new things I've seen.
  • TechTime participantsGreat presentations by all! I love that we are sharing ideas, expertise and learning together.
  • Top Ten Tips is something I'm going back to look at again and again. WooHoo! Great animated presentation!
  • Maybe I can keep up with my students now!!
  • I will try to use Plickers in my classroom this coming school year. It is an easy, engaging way to assess students. Very exciting!!
  • Lots of great ideas! Wow, my head is exploding, but I am saving the ideas to explore later.
  • Loved, loved, loved every single training. Next year we need another day for just executions, questions and answers.
  • Thank you for everyone involved in setting up and implementing this awesome training!
